German language courses: A1 to C2
Courses follow the six-level Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Lessons can develop listening, speaking, reading, and writing through practical language use. The descriptions below are general level guides; they are not a placement test or a promise of exam results.
A1 — Beginner
Start with familiar words and everyday expressions. Practise introducing yourself, asking and answering simple questions, and handling short exchanges when people speak clearly.
A2 — Elementary
Build confidence in routine situations. Practise exchanging information about familiar topics such as daily life, work, shopping, and your immediate surroundings.
B1 — Intermediate
Develop independence in common situations at work, school, and in daily life. Practise describing experiences, explaining plans, and giving brief reasons for opinions.
B2 — Upper intermediate
Work with more detailed texts and discussions on concrete and abstract topics. Practise expressing and supporting viewpoints, and communicating with greater fluency.
C1 — Advanced
Develop flexible German for social, academic, and professional situations. Practise understanding longer, complex material and expressing ideas fluently and in detail.
C2 — Proficient
Refine nuanced communication. Practise understanding almost all kinds of spoken or written material and expressing complex ideas precisely and naturally.
